FileMaker Database Consulting
What's a database, exactly?
When it comes to organizing information, we all have a variety of needs. From a paper shopping list, to contacts on a smartphone, to employee records at a large corporation. All of these things are essentially databases of one form or another. Even if you crumple up that shopping list and toss it into the recycle bin when you're done, it was essentially a tiny database - a simple list of items to purchase!
Move up in the world!
Many people use a spreadsheet or on-line 'cloud based' services for their databases. The question is: What do you do if you've outgrown those methods? Let's say you want something easier and faster to use ... that can also be customized to meet your exact needs, or the needs of your organization? That's where FileMaker comes in. And that's where Dancing-Data comes in, to help you get the most out of FileMaker!
The beauty of FileMaker is that you can learn how to set up a simple database for yourself almost as easily as opening a spreadsheet. And yet, hiding behind that simple screen is one of the most powerful workgroup database products ever created, with thousands of features ready to go to work for you as soon as you are ready to use them.

Working Together
More importantly, you and we can 'draw the line' anywhere we want, between what you want to customize and what I can do for you, based on my decades of experience. From changing the colors on your screens, to the arrangement of the fields, to something more sophisticated, we both get to decide who does which things as we work together. It's even possible to design something that you can port over to your mobile device* and start collecting or using your data on the go.
Now, it's your turn!
So. Have you got questions? Ideas? Concerns? Do you use FileMaker already but want to improve on what you have? Simply send me your request (click the button below) and I'll be happy to discuss it with you without cost or obligation.
Oh, and one more thing,...
Although FileMaker was originally designed to run on Macintosh computers back in the late 1980s, it was expanded in the 1990s to run on Windows based computers as well. In fact, your staff can access the same shared data simultaneously, from either platform, in real time, without any problem, even from remote locations, over secure internet connections.
In addition, you may have heard that FileMaker is a closed (proprietary) system. Rest assured, that over the years, FileMaker has been continuously improved and expanded. Today, FileMaker is a relational database product with vast capabilities, able to share data with most other database systems, either by direct live communication or via import or export of records in batches of any size.
* iOS, iPhone and iPad devices only, as of 2017
